Alicorn Amulet Trixie by Jiayi Alicorn Amulet Trixie by Jiayi
One of the experimental plushie commissions I did. @__@ This was a first try at a pony pattern! The body shape turned out well, but the head shape could use work! Additional photos with her cloak are here: [link]

I don't have an embroidery machine so the eyes were a challenge. I'm not sure how to approach them, applique seems like the best method thus far.

The Alicorn Amulet itself is made with Sculpey. I attached a badge pin on the back so it can be taken off.

Either you're great at making plushies, or great at shooping pictures of bad plushies. I'mma guess it's the former. Mad props to you.

Nicely done for your first pony pattern. Think the important thing is you got the basic shape down, and you captured a good expression with her eyes and devious smirk.

Lovely!
I've just started watching the first season, so Trixie hasn't appeared yet, but she looks as if she came straight out of the show XD
Looking forward to your next work~

Wow, that's impressive.

I do see areas that could use improvement such as her ear placement (actually I think it might be technically correct, but something about its position just seems a bit off to me), her nose shape (getting the right effect in 3D does sound like it would be tough) and her eyes (but as you said you don't have an embroidery machine, which I totally understand).

I'm not an expert or anything at sewing; I just have basic knowledge, so I don't have any suggestions I could give you to improve those areas, I'm afraid.

Still, all in all she looks better than any Hasbro pony plush I've seen in the stores (which constantly disappoint me to no end). If they made pony plushies at this quality, I'd probably pick one up.

lol I know what you mean XDDD I just spent ... erhm ... 3-5 weeks improving my patterns especially the head area XDDD I still don't feel a 100% satisfied but I feel A LOT better then my previous attempts XP Not bad for your first shot; mine was horrendous... no joke lol I'm surprised how fast you learned the ladder stitch to attach the mane and tail, and I like what you did with her cutie mark. Was that applique as well or something else?

Applique is the most comfortable option for plush makers if you don't have a proper machine... I myself do the hand embroidery but I've trained myself with that soo... yea XD
